The record is maintained by the concerned telephone exchange and contains call details such as time of the call, duration of the call, source and destination number, completion status of the call, etc. Call detail records serve a valuable purpose of revenue generation for telephone service providers and are critical for law enforcement, whenever required.
CDRs are also used for the following services:
Although there is no completely uniform definition of a fixed-line network, the term typically refers to all of the wired networks that are used for voice and data communications. A fixed line can be seen as a connection to an end customer, by means of a cable, through which a user can make phone calls or connect to the Internet. Fixed lines are clearly separate from the mobile phone network, by which end users are connected to the network via wireless transmission technologies.
Fixed Line services usually have an additional CDR format a Service CDR or SCDR. This typically contains the service charges and additional service usage that the end user should be charged for.
This was created in response to the shift in usage, consumers and businesses can buy a broadband connectivity without the need of a phone line.
Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SoGEA) is a new Openreach product which enables providers to order FTTC without a phone line – you’ve got everything you need within a single order. SoGEA will bring a big shakeup to telecoms in the UK, and it is one that we cannot ignore.
Currently most homes and businesses connect to Openreach’s infrastructure using WLR3 with broadband piggybacking on top. most ISPs, then bundle these together as packages by default. However, most people only have this fixed line because it is necessary for their broadband to work.
The nationwide rollout of full fibre networks set to be complete in 2023 means there is less and less requirement for old phone services. Instead, your customers can get a voice service on a SoGEA line although it will need to be an IP-based solution like VoIP.
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), also called IP telephony, is a method and group of technologies for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, such as the Internet. The terms Internet telephony, broadband telephony, and broadband phone service specifically refer to the provisioning of communications services (voice, fax, SMS, voice-messaging) over the Internet, rather than via the public switched telephone network (PSTN), also known as plain old telephone service (POTS). VoIP CDRs also typically have SCDRs associated to them for on charging.
This trend towards seamless connectivity between fixed and wireless telecommunications networks. The term also describes any physical network that allows cellular telephone sets to function smoothly with the fixed network infrastructure.
The ultimate goal of FMC is to optimize transmission of all data, voice and video communications to and among end users, no matter what their locations or devices. In the more immediate future, FMC means that a single device can connect through and be switched between wired and wireless networks.
FMC is sometimes seen as a way to reverse the trend towards fixed-mobile substitution (FMS), the increasing tendency for consumers and businesses to substitute mobile telephones for hard-wired or cordless landline sets. Typically, FMC CDRs have multiple end points to charge for, as the initial call may terminate at multiple destinations and are inherently more complex that traditional land line CDRs.
CDR is a file containing all usage details such as source of origin and destination point of the call, usage period of the IP and the total amount charged during the billing period. Call Detail records are maintained by telephone exchanges emitting information in the form of tickets, with respect to individual customers/users.
Our strength lies within our ability and flexibility to process single or multiple CDR files from any provider, with strong ties within the above-mentioned sectors, our billing solution provides organisations of all sizes with the ability to process their call data record (CDR) all inbound files are processed 5 times to ensure accuracy and compliance. An MVNO is an operator that does not have its own radio network. The MNVO relies on the radio network of another operator to provide mobile communication servies to its users. Therefore, the MVNO will be hosted by an MNO (Mobile Network Operator) which possesses its own antennas.
Somehow, the MVNO format is a subcotract from a 'traditional' operator (MNO) to a partner operator (MVNO) in order t enrich the market with a greater range of offers.
Consequently, an MNO can devide to host multiple virtual operators (MVNOs) on its network to exten its commercial reach. Typically, in this environment CDRs are processed in virtually real time enabling the MVNO operator to assess ussage to either automatically bar services or to charge additional out of bundle costs.
